Our First Week in Pittsburgh

We have been having a great time visiting our friends and family in Pittsburgh. Joey has done great with the time change. He is on his regular napping and bedtime schedule and is as happy as can be. At the beginning of the week, we did a lot of shopping. So much that I think that my mom is actually sick of the mall! On Wednesday, we went to lunch with our cousins, Lorraine and her daughters Abby and Molly. Also, Abby's boys Jack(4) and Michael(6 months) were there. I took some pictures, but I used my mom's camera and then uploaded them to her computer and I can't seem to find them anymore. Oh well. We had a good time and Joey enjoyed seeing his cousins.
On Thursday, my friend from high school, Aimee, came over with her baby, Mia. Mia is almost 6 months and the only baby that I have ever heard of that was born on her due date(May 2). Immediately when Mia was put down on the floor, Joey went over to her and kissed her. I really don't know where this is coming from, but it is starting to worry me! Here is the picture of baby girl #2 that Joey has pinned down for a kiss:

Also, we took a picture of all four of us. It was difficult for us to get a picture of all four of us looking at the camera. If Joey wasn't trying to kiss Mia again, Mia was looking at Joey wondering what the heck he was doing.
We had a great visit and can't wait to see them all again in December!

9 Months Old

Today Joey is 9 months old. I took him to the doctor on Friday for his 9 month appointment and he weighs 12 kg and is 74 cm long. Seriously, that is what they told me. I have no idea what those units mean. So I had to go home and google "conversion calculator" to find out my son's stats! So, that translates to 24 lbs and a little over 29 inches long.
Today we flew to Pittsburgh. Joe went on a 2 week "world tour" for work, so Joey and I decided that California wasn't any fun without him. Joe is currently in the DC area, will travel to Eglin AFB in Florida midweek and then to Brazil on Friday.
The flight for us was pretty uneventful. My mom flew to LAX to fly back with us. Thankfully she did, because if you have ever been at the LAX airport and had to park your car, you would understand this story. We got to the parking garage, which is atleast a mile away from the airport, and got our stuff out of the car. We spotted the big bus that we thought was going to take us to the airport, but no. It takes you to another part of the parking lot where you get the bus to go to the airport. So, we had to take 2 buses to get to the airport. Sooooo frustrating!
Anyways, we are in Pittsburgh until the 28th. Joey is doing great here so far. He had so much energy when we got to my parents house because he was stuck sitting all day on the plane. He was so excited to see the toys that my mom and Maggie(my brother's girlfriend) bought for him. He didn't know what to play with first. He crawled back and forth on the ground, picked up a toy, ate it for awhlie, then crawled some more. He is in constant motion and tires me out!
Luckily, I have my parents to help me out for the next 10 days!

The Invitations are Here!

It has been a long 9 months since Joe has started Test Pilot School. We actually realized how long his school has been when we saw a NHL game on last night and remembered that we watched the NHL playoffs months ago when Joe was also in TPS. Anyways, Joe and I are incharge of sending the invitations for the graduation and maintaining the RSVP list. Here is what the invitation looks like:
I am not sure if it is just my computer or what, but the background looks pink. It isn't! There is no pink in the invitation! The background is actually the exact copy of what their class patch looks like, which will be replaced on December 13 by the TPS patch(top right corner of the invite.)

Pink Flag

This past weekend, 7 other TPS spouses, aka my friends, and I went to Santa Barbara for a girls weekend. We called it Pink Flag, because in the Air Force there is a Red Flag when the whole Air Force goes to Vegas and they all fly and do their thing. Anyways, we had a great time. The worst thing was that I missed my baby boy so much!
We left on Friday night around 7 so that we would miss all of the traffic. We stayed at an awesome hotel overlooking the beach. On Saturday, we spent all day on State street, a great shopping area. On Saturday night, we went all out and splurged at a nice wine restaurant. Since there were 8 of us, we were in two different cars. My car got there first and we went into the restaurant and sat at our table. The second car pulled into the parking lot and saw Sean Penn hanging outside of the bar!

Here are a few pictures of our weekend:

On the beach--Our hotel is directly behind us.
At dinner
P.S. Joe did a great job with Joey, as expected. Infact, when I got home and was giving Joey kisses, he was still trying to look at Joe.

Invitations Galore!

Joe's TPS class is almost over! Well, he has a little more than 2 months to go. Since I am incharge of the invitations and RSVP list, this is when I get busy. Today, I had 6 TPS friends over to help stuff, stamp, and label the invitations that will be mailed next week. Since they came to help me, I made them lunch:) The invitations are not finished yet, but hopefully they will be out of my hair by next week!
In a few hours, I am leaving to go on a girls weekend in Santa Barbara. I am a little nervous about leaving Joey. Not because Joe isn't capable...I am going to miss my little boy so much! I get back on Sunday and luckily Joe has Monday off because of Columbus Day.
Have a good weekend!

Kids These Days!

Joey and I went to play at his friend Caroline's house yesterday and a second after I put him down, this is what happened:

I am not sure if he knocked her down or if she willingly laid down, but he kissed her! Luckily I had my phone next to me to take the picture. 8 1/2 months is a little early for a first kiss, but I like Caroline so I approve:)

This is what happens...

...when Joey wants the tv remote but isn't allowed to have it(however, my brother would probably say that he is crying because I made him wear that shirt).

I had to go to the doctors today because this past weekend, I was getting really dizzy and my ears were hurting. She said that I have fluid in my ears and asked me if I had been scuba diving or on an airplane. Nope, just hanging out here in the Edwards desert. Hopefully now with the medicine I will start to feel better!

Joey's Kisses

Joey has started giving kisses. I love those slobbery kisses but others don't! On Friday, we went to a friend's house and Joey was sitting next to his "girlfriend" Caroline and he leaned over and tried to kiss her! Unfortunately, she didn't like him intruding on her personal space and tried to get away as fast as she could. I love those kisses and try to get as many as I can! Here is a picture of Joey kissing Joe:

After giving daddy kisses, Joey ate his lunch. I decided to mix things up a little and I gave him some avocado, banana, and carrots. I separated them into 3 different piles for Joey to eat from, forgetting that he is 8 1/2 months old. Well, he mushed them all up together and was just shoveling fists full of goop into his mouth. Then he decided to touch his hair. Yuck...

Here is his hair with a chunk of avocado in it:

And here is Joe posing with Joey. He has his flight suit on because he had class today, Sunday, at 2.

Joey's New Shoes

I decided the other day that Joey needed shoes. Luckily, I found a website that has free overnight shipping!!! (http://www.endless.com/) Here is a close up of his shoes and his chubby legs/cankles that I just love to kiss!

And here is the reason that I thought he should have some shoes!

And, incase you are wondering, he still doesn't have any teeth.

The Firestation

Today our playgroup went on a tour of the firestation on base. Joey didn't really understand any of it but we still went. Unfortunately, they didn't have enough hats, so Joey didn't get one:( I did borrow a hat from my friend to take his picture with it on. He wouldn't keep it on his head! He just wanted to eat it!

Most of the kids were scared of the man when he put the fire suit on. Joey was oblivious to him and was happy to be on the ground because he wanted to crawl wherever he could. Luckily, Eliana held his hand and wouldn't let him move:)

Tomorrow--Joey's New Shoes!
