My Little Devil

Joey has started being a little bold these days. He knows what he is supposed to touch and what he is not supposed to touch. We do not let him touch the buttons on the tv, the picture holder that hangs on the wall or the blinds that is is now tall enough to reach. We didn't realize that he was going to be a climber so we didn't think that we had to keep him away from the end tables in our living room. He has now started climbing on the end table and sitting there, waiting for us to come over. It is almost like he is hiding there, waiting for us to find him. Although we don't want him climbing on the table, his little face is so cute when he does it. So I had to take a picture and now he is not allowed to climb anymore.

I also was able to get a short video of Joey walking. He still prefers to crawl. Usually when he walks, I do not have the camera ready. Yesterday I was able to get a whole 3 second video of him walking and then tripping.

Home from Shreveport and Joey's 1 Year Doctor Appointment

We got back from Shreveport on Saturday evening. Well, our flight got in around 2, but by the time we drove home it was about 5. We had such a great time and were sad to come home. However, it was good to get out of the little hotel room that we were staying in. And Joey missed his toys and books.
Today we went to the doctor for Joey's 1 year appointment. He weighs 26 lbs and is 32.5 inches long. He is almost walking. He takes a few steps and then falls down on the ground and speed crawls to where he wants to go. I think that he knows that he can get there faster if he crawls. He is a ton of fun right now. He knows a few animal noises. He says moo for a cow, sssss for a snake, and today for the first time tried to make an oinking noise for a pig. It was funny.
Now that we are back to California, we have to get back into our normal everyday lives that includes Joe going to work everyday. We had him at home with us for a month and I know that I got used to him being around!

Joey's (second) First Birthday Party

Yesterday on Joey's real first birthday, we had a birthday party at Chuckie Cheese. We had such a good time. Joey didn't really show much reaction. He just stared at the stage with the dancing animals. When we tried to take pictures of him, he wouldn't look at us but wanted to look at the stage. Our friends the Cummings (Betty, Denny and Callie) and The Hounchell's (Jana, Thane, Ian and Duncan) were with us. After eating pizza, we ate DELICIOUS cake fromm Julie Anne's bakery in Shreveport. It was sooooo good! I called them in the morning and they had it ready by 3! Joey had so much fun with his friends at Chuckie Cheese! Thanks to everyone that called and sent emails to wish Joey a happy birthday! Here are the pictures from Joey's Birthday Party!

Joey is 1!

It's my baby's first birthday! I can't believe that the year is already over. He went from being a little cuddly boy to wanting to get into everything, eat everything, and touch everything! Here is one of his first pictures:

Tomorrow, I will post Joey's birthday party pictures!

Week 1 in Shreveport

We are having sooooo much fun visiting our friends in Shreveport. Two of my good friends from Minot, Betty and Jana, are livinghere. We have been here for almost a week and we have done so much visiting with them. We have been going to lunch, playing, and some shopping of course! On Wednesday, my friends Kerry and Heather that are currently in Texas (their husbands are deployed from Minot) came to visit. Heather has a son, Rece, who is 18 months old. Joey loved him and wanted to climb on him and follow him around. Since taking a picture of an 18 month old and a 12 month old isn't the easiest thing to do, I picked out the best ones.

On Thursday night, we had a girls night at the Horseshoe casino and bar. We sat at a table at the bar and then realized that it was kareoke night. We had a blast singing and making fools out of ourselves. I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures. Hopefully I will be able to take them from someone that had their camera.
This weekend is going to be pretty relaxing. The only thing that we have to do is to watch the Steelers game tomorrow!

Joey's New Do

As requested by some of my faithful blog followers, here are some pictures of Joey's new hair-do.

Seriously, who is this kid? What happened to my little Joey? All of the sudden, he is a toddler(in a week and 2 days). Seriously, time flies.

Joey's First Haircut

Today we took Joey for his first professional haircut. His hair was really getting out of control. It was almost all one length but shaped around his face and ears. So I called the beauty shop on base and they had an opening for today. He sat on Joe's lap and I stood infront of him to entertain him. He didn't like the water spray bottle so he did cry a bit at the beginning. His hair looks so much better! The only thing is that now he looks like a little boy instead of a baby:(

Joey Walking...with help:)

My mom and dad bought Joey a shopping cart/walker for Christmas. He loves it and it is definately helping him to get around! We got him on video walking last night.

Joey has also been having a great time playing in his new play area of our new house. Here are some pictures of him playing.

Finally Home

We had a great trip to Pittsburgh. It was one of the best. We saw everyone that we wanted to see and spend time with. The trip back is always harder than the trip there. This was definately true yesterday and today. Our flight didn't leave Pittsburgh until last night at 5pm. After a layover in Cleveland, we got to Las Vegas at around 11pm. Instead of driving back to Edwards that late, we decided to stay in a hotel. Well, Joey isn't too fond of hotels so he didn't want to sleep. Infact, at 1am when we finally all got into bed, he decided to start play screaming and dancing. Not funny 1am, even though he is a good dancer:) We woke up at 6am this morning and drove back home to Edwards. We were so happy to get here after the long trip home.
We are here until next week when we leave to go to Shreveport for Joe to get requalified in the B-52. We can't wait to see our friends in and around the Shreveport area and introduce them all to Joey!
